TSP (Thrift Savings Plan)

Monday September 08, 2008

TSP website - Thrift Savings Plan

If you are not contributing all you can, please change your elections during the next open season. Your financial future depends on it. Save for a rainy day. Borrow from yourself and pay YOURSELF interest. :-)

****** (FERS) You may now contribute up to 100% of your pay towards your elected contributions, but only up a limit of $15,500 in 2008 ******

Employees can enroll at anytime now. Visit www.tsp.gov for details.

There are several major changes in the TSP Program that you must be aware of. You will have to pay a fee to get a loan through your TSP account. There will only be one general purpose loan allowed. You will be able to use the other loan for residential purposes only. You MUST pay off your loans before you can get another one AND you must wait 60 days before you can get a subsequent loan. No exceptions. Go to www.tsp.gov for more details on these changes.

Stay tuned for future updates.
